Animal Testing: Are there any alternatives
72Animal Testing: Are there any alternatives
I published a hub long time ago on Animal Testing. It was basically a research article that I wrote for someone. My Animal Testing hub was an instant hit and now it get around 150 daily visitors. I am really glad that people are concerned about the issue of Animal Testing. Either they are really concerned or they have been ordered by their teacher to write a term paper on animal testing. What ever the reasons, at least people are reading about it.
If you ask for general public opinion on animal testing, a typical answer would be that it’s a cruel act and we should condemn it. People believe in pragmatic approach these days, may be because we watch too much TV. I mean we just have one side of picture imprinted on our minds and we never bother to look at the other side.
Are there any alternatives to animal testing?
A simple question with a very complex answer. “Yes” there are alternatives and “No” these alternatives are not as accurate as animal testing it self. Below is the list of recognized animal testing alternatives.
- Corrositex which is also called Synthetic Skin
- Computer simulation and modeling based on data from previous animal testing subjects.
- The Murine Local Lymph Node Assay (LLNA)
None of the above mentioned techniques provide sufficient information about the complex interactions of living systems.
- Animals should not be used for medical experimentati...
In the World many groups and organizations are debating whether or not animal testing should be banned. Some people believe that there are reasons why animal testing should be done. Others believe that... - Animal Testing
In American culture a lot of groups and organizations are discussing whether or not animal testing should be disqualified. A number of people consider that there are reasons why animal testing...
Another animal testing alternative is volunteered human testing. We all know well off people never volunteer for any drug test. Only poor and needy people get sucked up in drug testing programs and when desired objectives are achieved companies dump these people without bothering to study long term effects on human test subject.
For argument sake let us suppose that animal testing gets a world wide ban then what. Do you think people will breed rats, hamsters and monkeys just because they look cute? We breed animal that we need for our satisfaction. Panda were declared endangered and people thought hey lets breed some pandas may be we’ll get some tourist. Money factor is always first priority in every decision we make. Animal Testing may be cruel but it saves many lives. Still if you have any suggestions for what we should do about this issue please feel free to post your views in comment section below.

Actually alternatives are more effective. Animal testing is inaccurate 80-90% of the time while animal testing alternatives is a lot more accurate

This is not a simple proposition. A start would be to determine what testing could be done without using living animals and use alternative means whenever possible.
